Hi, I am Charles Emejulu

I am a detail-oriented and motivated aspiring SOC Analyst with a CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) certification and a strong foundation in frontend development. My background in JavaScript, React, and problem-solving enables me to understand how systems and applications function, which supports my ability to identify potential security risks and think analytically about defensive strategies.

In my current role, I am responsible for monitoring incidents, documenting events, assessing their severity, and escalating where required. This experience has helped me develop practical skills in incident handling, communication, and structured reporting, which closely align with Security Operations Centre (SOC) responsibilities such as alert triage and incident response.

Current Focus:
• Developing hands-on SOC skills through platforms like TryHackMe (log analysis, threat detection, incident investigation)
• Strengthening Linux knowledge through practical learning and system-level analysis
• Building a cybersecurity portfolio on GitHub to demonstrate real-world investigations and technical skills
• Gaining exposure to SIEM tools and concepts, including Microsoft Sentinel

I have also completed the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, where I gained foundational knowledge in networking, Linux, incident documentation, risk assessment, and security controls. I am actively building on this through hands-on labs and practical exercises focused on defensive security operations.

I bring a calm, analytical approach to problem-solving and work well in structured, high-responsibility environments. My goal is to secure an entry-level SOC Analyst role where I can apply my technical skills, real-world experience, and continuous learning mindset to monitor, analyse, and respond to security incidents effectively.
